The Mayr Health Spa is not only a first rate establishment owing to its situation but also, because here, in these "venerable walls", lies the cradle of the MAYR medicine with its all-season in-patient treatment.

The Mayr Health Spa was originally built, for private purposes, in 1936 by the English Major Foster. Up to 1974 the hotel was run as a classic seasonal business and was also briefly a children’s hospital and, during World War II, a military hospital.
After far reaching conversions by the current associates, the Mayr Health Spa opened its gates on August 1st 1976.

Dr. Erich Rauch, 1922-2003

Under the medical direction of Dr. med. Erich Rauch it became the first and leading enterprise for the in-patient intestinal regeneration cure according to Dr. F.X. Mayr. Today the doctors of the house are still striving, in direct succession of Dr. F.X. Mayr, for genuine health improvement not based on symptom orientated orthodox medicine and nature healing.

In our house many years of experience and the newest discoveries come together in a genuine holistic treatment method.

It has always been our endeavour to preserve the quaint homely cosiness of the timbered style building. This was also taken into account during the continuous conversions and improvements, the most recent in December 2003. The walls breathe, the wooden staircases creak, the wood works. This homeliness of the surroundings communicates itself to the guest who has come to us in order to regain both calm and renewed energy.

Nevertheless, there is no need to forego up-to-date 4 star comfort and so the 60 guest rooms are equipped with everything that makes for a pleasant stay. There is just one thing you will not find in the hotel: a lift. And that is quite deliberate, because mild movement counts as one of our basic principles.
